Reid Kornman is a dedicated Eastchester resident, an active community builder, and a committed advocate for the future of our local schools. Having lived in the Eastchester area for almost eight years, Reid understands the unique character of our community and the values that make it a great place to raise a family.

Reid's investment in the Eastchester Union Free School District is deeply personal. As a proud parent to his son and two daughters, he understands firsthand the importance of providing every student with a safe, enriching, and high-quality educational environment. He is running for the Board of Education to ensure that his children's generation, and all children in our district, have access to the resources and opportunities they need to thrive.

Beyond his focus on education, Reid is a proactive fixture in the neighborhood serving on the neighborhood committee and volunteering for many local groups. He is passionate about bringing neighbors together.

Professionally, Reid serves as the AI, Immersive and Engineering Services Lead at Pfizer, bringing a strong background in technology, project management, and strategic innovation to the table. When he is not focused on his professional work, you can usually find Reid hiking with his family during the warmer months or hanging out and connecting with his neighbors.

Smart Fiscal Stewardship & Transparency

Reid believes in maximizing the value of every taxpayer dollar without compromising the quality of our children's education. His priority is to bring rigorous oversight to the district's finances. He will carefully analyze the Superintendent's proposed budgets, advocate for the responsible management of district funds and ensure transparent, clear communication about how and why financial decisions are made.

Future-Ready Education

In his career leading AI and emerging technologies, Reid sees firsthand how rapidly the world is changing. Our students need to be prepared for the future they will inherit. He will champion curricula and resources that equip Eastchester students with the critical thinking, technological fluency, and problem-solving skills necessary to thrive in a modern workforce.

Community-Centered Collaboration

A school board is most effective when it listens to the community it serves. Running alongside Brenna Gethers, Reid is committed to building a culture of consensus, open dialogue, and mutual respect. He will prioritize active engagement with parents, teachers, and neighbors to ensure the district's policies truly reflect the needs and values of the Eastchester community.

Professional Leadership & Innovation

With over 25 years of experience working in technology, Reid currently serves as the AI, Immersive and Engineering Services Lead at Pfizer, bringing a robust background in strategic planning, complex project management, and technological innovation. His responsibilities involve leading teams, managing resources, and driving forward-thinking solutions in a highly regulated corporate environment. This executive experience provides him with the analytical rigor, fiscal oversight, and organizational acumen necessary to effectively evaluate and manage the Eastchester Union Free School District's budget and operations.

Commitment to Educational Infrastructure & Technology

Reid's dedication to supporting public schools began at age 15 when he served as his high school's student webmaster and became a founding member of the "Students Working to Advance Technology" group. He furthered this hands-on involvement through multiple summer-long internships, where he helped modernize school infrastructure by installing over 900 new computers across his entire school district. This foundational experience gave him an early, practical understanding of district-wide operations and the importance of equipping schools with the right tools for student success.

Collaborative Problem-Solving

Throughout his professional and civic endeavors, Reid has consistently prioritized consensus-building and open communication. He understands that successful governance requires teamwork and a willingness to listen to diverse perspectives. This collaborative approach is a cornerstone of his joint campaign alongside Brenna Gethers, ensuring he is prepared to work constructively with fellow board members, district administrators, and the community from day one.
