Brenna Gethers is a passionate Eastchester resident, an invested parent, and a committed advocate for the future of our local schools. Having called Eastchester home for eight years, Brenna understands the core values of our community and the importance of fostering an environment where families and students can flourish.
Brenna's connection to the Eastchester Union Free School District is deeply personal. As the proud mother of two wonderful daughters, she has walked the halls of Waverly, Anne Hutchinson, and Eastchester Middle School. Having seen firsthand the incredible impact our dedicated educators and administrators have every single day, she is running for the Eastchester School Board to support our teachers, advocate for student well-being, and ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive.
Beyond her focus on education, Brenna has a lifelong dedication to civic engagement, community service, and youth leadership. She also brings a highly unique, creative background to the campaign: before her career in public service, Brenna was a lead singer and a 2006 American Idol alumna! This experience taught her invaluable lessons about performing under pressure and finding harmony—skills that translate perfectly to collaborative board leadership.
Professionally, Brenna brings a diverse, practical perspective to the table. With ten years of management in operations for two Fortune 500 companies, she possesses real-life expertise in budget management, supply and demand, and daily operations. Alongside this, Brenna is a New York State Certified Code Enforcement Official with firsthand experience working inside municipal government and school districts. Equipped with a degree in Sociology from Brandeis University and a Legal Certificate from Cornell University, she is uniquely trained to evaluate policies, regulations, and budgets with a critical eye for efficiency, transparency, and safety, ensuring our schools are supported without sacrificing resident monies.

With a robust background spanning ten years in operations management for Fortune 500 companies and her certification as a New York State Code Enforcement Official, Brenna understands how to manage complex budgets, supply and demand, and daily operations. She will bring this real-world expertise to the Board, critically evaluating policies and regulations to ensure our schools run safely and efficiently. Her goal is to maximize the impact of every dollar, supporting educational excellence without sacrificing resident monies.

Brenna is committed to ensuring that administrative decisions and budgetary processes are accessible and fully understood by the Eastchester community. Drawing on her legal training from Cornell University and her experience working inside municipal government, she will advocate for straightforward reporting and open dialogue, ensuring parents and taxpayers are always informed and engaged in the district's direction.

By working hand-in-hand with parents, staff, and the community, Brenna aims to ensure Eastchester remains a place where every child can thrive.
Municipal Governance & Educational Administration
Brenna brings firsthand experience in both municipal government and school district operations. During her tenure with the White Plains City School District, she provided executive support to the Assistant Superintendent and Director of HR. In this role, she managed district-wide personnel operations, ensured strict adherence to state and federal compliance, and directed the applicant onboarding pipeline. Furthering her municipal expertise, Brenna worked in the Village of Scarsdale Building Department, where she managed technical permit intakes and acted as a liaison between Engineering, Zoning, and Planning departments. She recently earned her New York State Code Enforcement Official Certification.
Operational Leadership & Regulatory Compliance
With an extensive background in retail management, Brenna possesses deep expertise in day-to-day operations. As an Operations Supervisor at Bloomingdale's, she led and mentored a team of 35 employees while driving cross-departmental efficiency. Her responsibilities included managing detailed reporting for regulatory compliance and implementing inventory systems that reduced stock discrepancies. This operational background equips her with the analytical rigor and practical experience required to oversee complex organizational processes, manage resources effectively, and evaluate district-wide operations.
Community Collaboration & Multi-Agency Coordination
Effective board leadership requires clear communication and the ability to work across diverse groups. In her municipal roles, Brenna spearheaded high-volume communications, providing immediate technical guidance to residents and contractors. She actively educated the public on code requirements, significantly reducing application errors and "stop-work" scenarios. As a bilingual communicator fluent in English and conversational in Spanish , she is dedicated to public safety and organizational excellence. Her proven ability to facilitate critical cross-departmental communication ensures seamless project progression and adherence to multi-agency regulatory requirements.
